This Weekly comes from our own OVERLORD.

It's a good read, Give it a once over and comment. :)

When playing AC2 I recall countless hours of recounting battles and struggles with my RL friends. We would discuss the game and our adventures in great detail. While this still happens in newer MMO's, it is on a vastly smaller scale. AC2 had some quality that I cannot describe, something that made it more real and exciting. In the memory of the wonderful times in Dereth, I would like to share one such tale with you all.

My name is Lowan, I am a defender aligned with the Dominion. I was honing my skills in HoD. Olthoi there as big as a lugian's stomach I tell you. It can be tough down there for us defenders. Some of the Olthoi had armor piercing strikes. It was as if I had no armor at all!

Then the call came in. Shadow was massing to attack the Dominion base! I finished off the most recent of my olthoi victims and took a portal to my friends aid. The battle hadn't yet begun, thank the gods, for we were short handed this day. Reinforcements trickled in slowly and I began to worry.

There they were. A massive shadow army. I would guess there were 30 of them. I doubt we numbered any more than 20. Battle was joined. We were forced back onto the ramp we called a base. I hope someday to find the architect and throttle him. With the constructs help we were at a standstill. Raiders bombarded us with rocks, casters rained damage with spells. We were holding, but barely. We fought hard but remained at a standstill.
I had had enough of this, so I shouted over at my fellow defender, Warfalcon to follow me. He agreed and the 2 of us charged the army of shadow. Ageis is a wonderful thing. As we trudged toward the mass of shadow, it allowed us to shrug off most of the damage. We reached the first victim and down he went. We fought back to back, moving to keep from being surrounded. Bring Peace, lay on hands, and Benevolent Leader kept us alive along with Shield Wall and Emblem of Might. We stayed out on the field for what seemed like forever. Eventually too many noticed the 2 defenders cutting a hole in their army and we had no choice but to retreat back to the base.

Our charge had given the rest of our fellows the time to regroup and organize, however. We pushed the Shadow back. They fought hard but the few left standing fled and the day was ours. I don't know where Warfalcon is today, but I hope he too remembers when 2 defenders charged an army and won!

Come now friends, you have heard my tale. ( and I hope that you will be around to hear more) Please, tell us your tale as we sit in portal space, waiting for a chance to return to our home. It will pass the time.
